Proposed Zoning & Development Code Amendments

Related to the Keeping of Chickens and Ducks

The City of Federal Way’s Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 33325 8th Avenue South, Federal Way, WA 98063-9718. The commission will consider text amendments to Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) Title 19 “Zoning and Development Code.” Proposed amendments include: (1) allowing a limited number of chickens and ducks on lots less than 35,000 square feet; and (2) banning roosters citywide, with the exception of those areas zoned Suburban Estate.

The official file is available for public review at the Department of Community Development Services (address above). Any person may submit written comments to the Planning Commission prior to the hearing, present comments to the commission during the hearing, and/or may appear at the public hearing to provide verbal testimony.
