Need to renew your pet license? Good news! Now you can do it online.

Life just got a little easier for pet owners in Federal Way. Pet license renewals can now be done online at

Once your King County license has expired, please renew with the City of Federal Way.

Pet owners may still renew through the mail or in person. Applications may be downloaded at, or picked up and dropped off at the Federal Way Police Department, City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

First license? Get one in person or by mail.

All original pet license applications must be done in person or by mail, with proof of alteration (if appropriate) and rabies vaccinations.

It is important to license your pets. It helps the police in returning lost pets to their owners. License fees assist in paying for the medical fees of sick or injured animals, spaying/neutering programs and caring for homeless or abandoned pets.

The Federal Way Police Department launched its Animal Services Unit on July 1 of this year. It is focused on public education related to pet licensing, keeping pets safe by using leashes, and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
