Federal Way TV debuts six new shows

Federal Way Television—your local government access channel—debuted six new shows this month featuring everything from art and politics to history and literature.

New local programming includes:
  • American Podium” A series that brings you today’s most fascinating speakers as they share their thoughts and insights about what’s going on in the world.

  • Art Zone” A weekly show starring popular Seattle TV personality Nancy Guppy that highlights the local creative scene for art, entertainment and cultural happenings.

  • Book Lust with Nancy Pearl” Seattle’s own “action figure librarian” and best-selling author Nancy Pearl sits down each month with top writers from around the country for lively conversations about books and all things literary.

  • History in Motion” A showcase for documentaries, archival films, and vintage video capturing the Seattle area’s past.

The channel has also added the following nationally acclaimed programs:
  • National Gallery of Art” This series on art and artists is produced by the National Gallery of Art which houses one of the finest art collections in the world. Programs cover everything from ancient Egyptian art to 20th century artists, including films on how masterpieces are created.

  • Give Your Walls Some Soul” Host/artist Shannon Grissom shares her tips and techniques for painting with soul. Her honest, humorous, and irreverent instruction inspires the viewer to participate.
FWTV also showcases programs on health, the environment, education, exercise and the armed services, along with live telecasts and replays of City Council meetings, Federal Way School Board meetings and City land use meetings. FWTV is broadcast on Channel 21 in Federal Way for Comcast subscribers and can be watched on-demand online www.cityoffederalway.com/fwtv
