A year of art exhibits in Federal Way

Acrylics, photography, mixed media – satisfy your art palette in 2009 with nine exciting art exhibits sponsored by the City of Federal Way Arts Commission. Displayed at both City Hall and Dumas Bay Centre, the exhibits feature local artists and are free and open to the public.

Mark your calendars for the following Federal Way art exhibits:

City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • January 8 – March 12: Peter Gallagher, acrylic on paper canvas
  • March 19 – May 14: Jeanie Campbell, mixed media
  • May 21 – July 16: Past commissioner’s exhibit
  • July 23 – September 17: Lou Anne Knutzen, watercolor and gouache
  • September 25 – January 5, 2010: Arts Alive Juried Exhibit
Knutzen Family Theatre/Dumas Bay Centre, 3200 SW Dash Point Rd.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and select hours when the theater is open for a show.
  • January 13 – April 2: Fran Velling, water color
  • April 7 – June 25: Pat Longley, encaustic on panel
  • June 30 – October 1: Chaim Bezalel-Yonnah Levy, mixed media w/photography and oil pastels
  • October 6 – January 7, 2010: Jay Galvin, natural photography
The artists are selected by the Federal Way Arts Commission, a nine-member group that advises the City Council on all areas of the arts, including the fine arts, literary, performing, visual and cultural.
