Federal Way performing arts center money gets yes vote ... and a serenade

THENEWSTRIBUNE.COM -- Efforts to build a performing arts center in Federal Way cleared another hurdle Tuesday night when the City Council voted to ask the Legislature for $5 million to begin funding construction. Dozens of supporters turned out to show their support for the proposed 700-seat center, which would cost at least $40 million. They spoke about the need for a facility for arts groups to perform and how the building could spur economic development. More...
