Pacific Highway S. Phase IV Upgrade Open House

Bookmark and Share

Federal Way is hosting on open house for Pac Highway Upgrades - Phase IV (between 312th. and Dash Point - map) fills in the gaps from the previous three phases (essentially 284th to Dash Point and then 312th. to 340th.).  They plan to share details on the following:

  • Roadway and Safety Improvements (Dual Left-Turn Lanes, HOV Lanes, Driveway Consolidations)
  • Pedestrian Improvements (Sidewalks, Curb & Gutter, Crosswalks, Street Lighting)
  • Landscaping Improvements (Planted Median and Planter Strips)
It's Thursday, November 6 from 4-6 pm in the City Council Chambers.  Click here to view the PDF which contains more information and Frequently Asked Questions.

As a newcomer to town, I don't know what 312th. to 340th. looked like prior to the upgrades, but I've already seen new investment in the properties bordering Pacific Highway north of Dash Point, which would seem to confirm the common thought that when a community invests in its infrastructure that it spurs new development.  Has this been the case in the past?  And if so, will the city plan further upgrades to follow for 340th. south to Milton?  Because 340th. to 348th. - now there's an area in need of a facelift.  I still maintain it should just be rezoned for auto (new) dealerships.  Get Jet Chevrolet over there so that there's one less thing to deal with when it comes time to build the proposed 5-161 interchange.
