Video: FWPD Cruiser vs. House (2002)

Bookmark and Share

Really not much to see. Hard to figure what angle they were coming from. (Is this house at a T-intersection?)

But more importantly, why are FWPD cruisers so stinking ugly? I swear, with the generic "police" across the side, they look like the kinds of cop cars you'd see in a low-budget direct-to-video release starring Shaq shot in some place like Toronto or Podunk where they don't have access to cars with black bodies and white doors.

Seriously, can someone from the city please post a response defending the "design" choice of the vehicles we're putting our finest behind the wheel of?

I think we need to hire a designer for a few hours to come up with a new look for our cars. Off the top of my head, let's see "Federal Way" more prominent on the sides of the cars, as well as our FWPD slogan (do we have one? I suspect "It's all within reach." doesn't work so well as a police slogan) and either the FWPD shield or the city's stylized mountains and stream logo on the sides of these cars.

(And don't get me started on the generic black jackets worn by our motorcycle officers... that, I suspect might be more intentional?)

And here's a second video that was recently posted and tagged Federal Way. Ummm.... yeah.... I don't really know what to make of it.

When your city's run like a corporation, you end up with corporate blandness in your city.

Insert obligatory "but if the people could elect their own city's leader" remark here.
